In our last lesson, we traveled to Peru and discovered that there are lots of llamas and papas (potatoes) in the country. In our next lesson, Funny Faces we will learn that our faces can express our emotions. With the use of songs, stories and movement, and lots of play we will learn four basic emotions. Our Blabbin Babies are getting quite familiar with routine phrases and greetings and are often initiating and/or repeating phrases appropriately. Although your child may not be speaking, please know that his receptive skills are emerging and your budding linguist is being exposed to new vocabulary every class. Find opportunities at home to connect Spanish and English. A few simple ideas include, reading a bilingual board book or playing with a bilingual infant/toddler game or toy. We are excited about the start of this years bilingual journey. As we turn briefly from discovering the wonders of Peru, our next lesson, All About Me will take your child on a path of self-exploration. During each class your child will learn new words and phrases to express himself. We will learn how our differences and similarities make us all special. We will culminate our lesson with a Get to Know Me presentation. Your child (along with your help) will compile personal items/pictures in a Me Bag to share with the class. A letter will be sent home as we get closer to our presentation date.
